Misfit Pillow Makeover

Class Description
Got a pillow rescued from the thrift store — or inherited from grandma — that's seen better days? Bring it in and give it a total transformation! In this workshop, we'll take those "unfortunate" pillows, pillow shams, or even an old shirt or spare fabric, and turn them into something you'll actually want on your furniture. We'll start with the fixes: mending popped seams, patching holes, and covering up stains so your pillow is sturdy and ready for its makeover. Then comes the fun part — customizing and embellishing it to fit your style using fabric markers, embroidery thread, sequins, ribbon, thread, sewing needles, and more. Whether you want something bold and colorful, subtle and elegant, or completely one-of-a-kind, you'll have everything you need to make it your own. No sewing experience required — just bring your creativity (and your rescued pillow) and we'll help you take it from thrift-store cast-off to a piece you're proud to display.

Dry Canyon Community Art Center is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization powered by a community of local and guest artists. Last-minute cancellations have a real impact — not just on us, but on the guest artists who order supplies, prepare materials, and plan their time specifically for you. If you find yourself unable to attend, please consider gifting your spot to a friend or family member.
