7/22: Gelli Printing: Stencils/Botanical

Wednesday, July 22, 4:30-6pm with Susan Shayegi

1 h 30 min
50 US dollars
Southwest 6th Street

Class Description

Expand your gelli printing art by exploring shape stencils and plant shapes with vibrant colors and textures. Learn how to design and cut your own stencils, both abstract and subject specific silhouettes, try out botanical(leaf) shapes, and make color choices for the best impact. We’ll print on a variety of papers to compare different outcomes. By the end of class you’ll have a collection of small 5x7 prints and one larger piece that we’ll print on a surface of collage papers to create depth with transparent and opaque colors. All materials are included, but if you took the intro class and purchased your gelli plate and brayer, bring them to class. You’re welcome to bring any special paper, stencil or botanicals you’d like to use as well. Gelli plate & brayer available for purchase.
