Susan Shayegi

Instructor Bio:

Susan Shayegi is an artist, art teacher and promoter of art opportunities in the Redmond community.  Teaching art at Redmond High School for 33 years garnered her a range of experiences, teaching a variety of mediums and levels of art.  Her own art practice involves drawing, mixed media, photography and graphic design, often featuring nature, color, patterns and balance. “I love the art classroom with its many artists learning to create, sharing ideas and discoveries, and finding joy and purpose in art making.  I also love being a student myself for those same reasons”.

Susan earned a degree in Art Education from the University of Oregon and continued building knowledge and skill in a variety of settings including Portland State University, and she has been active in the Oregon and National Art Education associations.  Always encouraging students to show their work, she lent her organizational and motivational skills to the Scholastic Art Awards and a variety of Redmond community shows for her students.  Susan is a member of the Dry Canyon Arts Association, showing art in the community gallery and Lend Me Your Walls venues. She is lead organizer for the DCAA St Charles Redmond Lend Me Your Walls exhibit and a member of the Dry Canyon Art Center Classes committee.
