Gillian Burton
Instructor Bio:
Watercolor artist Gillian Burton returned to painting three years ago after a long hiatus, first rediscovering her creativity through acrylics before finding her passion in watercolor. Her expressive paintings are known for their loose, fluid style, combining dry brush, wet-on-wet, pouring, and other watercolor techniques to create luminous landscapes and evocative scenes inspired by the beauty of Central Oregon and beyond.
Burton's work has been exhibited throughout Central Oregon and has earned numerous awards, including Best in Show at the Roberts Field–Redmond Airport Juried Show. In addition to her work as an artist, she serves as a commissioner for the Redmond Commission for Art in Public Places (RCAPP), where she helps support and promote the arts within the community. Through both her artwork and her teaching, Gillian encourages others to explore watercolor with confidence, curiosity, and a spirit of creative discovery.
